  • Value of orders received rises 21% to record level of 4.78 billion euros
  • Group sales total 4.3 billion euros despite negative currency effects
  • Both divisions – Rail Vehicle Systems and Commercial Vehicle Systems – achieve previous year’s level of sales

In the 2013 business year the Knorr-Bremse Group once again posted global sales considerably above 4 billion euros. Against a background of negative currency effects the figure remained constant at 4.3 billion euros (previous year: 4.3 billion euros). The positive market development boosted the value of incoming orders to a record level of 4.78 billion euros (previous year: 3.95 billion euros)

Sales in the Rail Vehicle Systems division were slightly up at 2.25 billion euros in 2013 (previous year: 2.22 billion euros), with positive impetus coming during the course of the year both from the OEM segment, especially in Russia, India and China, and the aftermarket and service segment in Europe.

The Commercial Vehicle Systems division of Knorr-Bremse achieved sales of 2.07 billion euros in 2013 (previous year 2.10 billion euros). After a slow first six months, business picked up, especially in Europe and South America, but also in North America.

The Knorr-Bremse Group assumes an overall positive development of its business in 2014 and expects further significant growth.
